National Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug
In National Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug, the second largest national park in the Netherlands, two brand new Discovery Centres have opened. Here you can discover what you are part of. You are drawn in and step outside again with a new perspective, back into nature.
The Discovery Centres are a unique combination of education, nature experience and (interactive) exhibition. YIPP was commissioned by National Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug to develop various types of interactive exhibits to present the history, geology, flora and fauna of the Heuvelrug in a fascinating and accessible way.
I am nature
One of the interactive exhibits that playfully encourages visitors to reflect is “I am nature”. Here, visitors become part of nature themselves. By adopting different poses, detected by a 3D camera, you transform into a tree, which in turn changes into a bird, a dune and a sand lizard, before returning to a human silhouette.
In the Heuvelrug Experience, information about the ridge can be accessed in an interactive model of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. And in the Spot Game, all species that are found on the Heuvelrug can be discovered. The game always starts in the current season, but it is also possible to search in other seasons. This encourages a return to the Discovery Centre and the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
