Move Lab

Amsterdam

For the renovation of Move Lab, YIPP worked on two new installations in which physical and digital interaction reinforce each other. The concepts were developed through creative workshops with the PON team, involving intensive play and iteration with various prototypes.

From Scanning to Styling: Design Your Dream Vehicle

In this section, visitors transform into car designers. Visitors start by selecting a number of elements: they use hand scanners to capture colours, rims and headlights from a product wall on their digital “mood board”. They then refine their design using an intuitive 3D modelling interface, where they decide on the body shape, such as an elegant convertible or a practical pick-up truck. The final design is made available as a digital souvenir via a generated QR code.

Collage to Concept Car: AI Transformation

At a spacious craft table, visitors create physical collages of their dream vehicles using various materials. When the collage is placed in a specially designed scanner, a proprietary AI system converts the handmade work into both a sleek 2D drawing and a 3D model within seconds. The highlight is when their creation appears in the virtual PON garage and as a personalised advertisement on a digital billboard.

Both experiences are designed to support individual exploration and collaboration, and offer digital content to take home, extending the interaction beyond the walls of the centre. The installations encourage visitors to actively participate in shaping the future of mobility through creative decisions.
