BOS
Natuurmuseum Brabant, Tilburg
In close cooperation with Natuurmuseum Brabant, YiPP created BOS, an interactive forest for children aged 2 to 6. Children discover all there is to know about the forest, the trees, and its inhabitants while using all of their senses. The atmosphere and content of the room completely change with every season of the year.
The exhibition consists of three main zones. The outer zone is for focusing, sitting down and discovering. In the middle zone all senses are used to experience the seasonal changes of the forest. The central zone is where 'TREE' lives. The zone is focused around an immersive interactive floor and wall projection. Using Kinect sensors children can play physically with all the forest elements.
the story of 'BOOM'
In the museum there's a tree named BOOM. But it doesn't know how trees are supposed to grow. Now take a branch and help BOOM by collecting some life (leaves and animals) and make BOOM grow a little bit bigger.
The branches unlock wonderful little worlds where you can discover all kinds of stuff. Ever wondered how a hedgehog feels? Or how spiders design their webs?
YiPP created the software for the interactive digital part of the exhibition as well as all necessary artwork.
